Precious Metals Assay and Hallmark Center has given assay and hallmark services for gold, silver and other precious metals since May 2003. The center is equipped with some of the most hi-technology instruments such as Inductively Couple Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) and X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) for assaying and laser instrument for hallmarking. Funded by the government’s economic boost budget, the center serves with the purposes of protecting the consumers and increasing confidence among them as well as preventing fraud and promoting righteous trading competition. Moreover, the center also supports the Office of the Consumer Protection Board and Tourism Authority of Thailand by inspecting the fineness of jewelry. |

Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) |
| |
|
| |
ICP-OES is used for analyzing the purity of gold, silver and platinum, as well as other metals. This technique is capable of analyzing the wide variety of samples both qualitatively and quantitatively with superior accuracy and detection limit. |

Auto-titration |
| |
|
| |
Auto-titration is used specifically for analyzing the purity of silver. It provides the accuracy and speed for determination by using silver ion selective electrode. |

| |
|
| |
XRF based on energy dispersive instrument is used for analyzing the purity of gold and other precious metals. This equipment offers a nondestructive investigation of precious jewelry products and other samples, but the obtained results are only the surface of sample. |

Laser Hallmark |
| |
|
| |
Laser Hallmark is an equipment that employed laser beam to mark small symbols or words on the surface of precious metals. These symbols or words are used to indicate the purity of precious metals and owner or manufacturer in order to guarantee the quality of the goods. |
